This Month's Topic: A Reefer's Buying Guide (part 2) This topic may be postponed as we may have a guest speaker discussing the collection side of the industry.
Ever wondered why products in this hobby are so expensive while others are so cheap? Ever wondered what makes a particular coral worth so much more than another. Ever wondered what pump would be best for my application? What lighting system is best for me? This is one of those meetings that will provide you the info that will definitely save you money.
Last month we didn't get through nearly all the topics we planned and we had some great reef saving tips.
We will also have our ever famous raffle which will contain:
Live goods from Amazing Aquariums & Reefs and/or Sea Dwelling Creatures.
Dry goods coming from companies such as Hydor, Warner Marine, Brightwell Aquatics, and many others. (I'll give more details about the Hydor as soon as I open the box)
SCMAS meetings are open to all non-members as well! We would love to have you there.
ATTN: Don't forget SCMAS members can bring you water samples in for phosphate testing.
Group buy for Frozen Argent Cyclop-eeze available at the meeting. (more details to come this evening)
Hope to see you all there.

This Month's Topic: Clownfish
Guest Speaker: Morgan Itzel aka: morgman
Morgan Itzel has been keeping marine aquariums for 25 years. His first aquarium was a small ten gallon aquarium that housed a pair of pregnant seahorses, ordered from Boy’s Life Magazine. From that first seahorse tank, Morgan’s passion for learning about marine aquariums & marine fish breeding has continued to grow. Today he maintains over 100 aquariums run on five separate systems.
Morgan currently runs Bluewater Aquaculture a company that specializes in the breeding and rearing of marine fish, mostly clownfish. He has successfully spawned and raised nine species of clownfish and a two varieties of Neon gobies.
Morgan started breeding clownfish in 2000, when his only pair of ocellaris clownfish surprised him and began spawning in his 120 gallon reef tank. In 2003 he increased his marine breeding operation from one breeding pair of clownfish to several dozen. Morgan specializes in raising a few species of clownfish that are in demand by the market.
Morgan continues to work hard at breeding and raising marine fish because he feels that there is nothing more satisfying then to watch a minuscule marine fish grow up before ones eyes. He hopes that his contributions will help protect the oceans just a little bit more.
SCMAS meetings are open to all non-members as well! We would love to have you there.
ATTN: Don't forget SCMAS members can bring you water samples in for phosphate testing.
Hope to see you all there.

I went to that meeting; it was the first one I've been to. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Morgan's lecture was very interesting and I felt that I learned quite. Thanks for your welcome.
